Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Clint, returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Clinton Harold Stephens, was born June 2, 1933 to Charles Cleveland Stephens and Geraldine Alice Bell Stephens, in Vancouver, Clark County Washington.
Clint didn’t attend much school during his younger years because he was always working for his dad doing many odd jobs. He learned from a very early age to be a hard worker and an honest worker. Clint joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 15 and was soon removed from his home in Washington for that decision.
Clint soon after moved to Arizona for work where he met his soon to be wife, Kathleen Bingham. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple, and began to build their life together. Clint and Kathleen had 6 sons and 2 daughters. Clint was a very loving husband and father. He was a very hard worker, and taught his kids to be hard workers.
He worked as a foreman for John F. Long home builders in Glendale Arizona. It wasn’t long before he decided that he didn’t want to work for someone else all his live, so he started studying for his State Contractors License, and started Stephens Construction. He had the opportunity to build many homes throughout the Salt River Valley. He build them to last and as if he was going to live there himself. Most of all Clint taught his kids to be loving to everyone, especially their own families. He instilled in his children to be care takers and examples to their families.
Clint loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He served in the Arizona Stake Mission Presidency, Sunday School Presidency, Ward Clerk, Scout Master, and Stake Missionary. He loved serving as an Ordinance worker in the Provo and Payson Temples. Clint had the special opportunity to serve several missions with his loving wife.
They both served together as Church Service Missionaries in the Provo MTC, and as full time missionaries in the Nauvoo Illinois Mission, and Everett Washington Mission. These were times that they cherished together. But also most of all, Clint loved serving his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Geneva Kathleen Bingham Stephens, son Dane Clinton Stephens (Mandy), daughter Timaree Kathleen Crandell (Joe), son Derek Richard Stephens (Corinne), son Corbett Kempton Stephens (Claudia), son Darin Grant Stephens (Maureen), son Gentry Bingham Stephens (Christin), son Aaron Randall Stephens (Sarah), 32 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ronica Kayle Stephens, his father, Charles Cleveland Stephens, his mother Geraldine Alice Bell, 6 brothers, and 7 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1866 West 5000 South, Spanish Fork, Utah.
