Christopher James Eyre August 26, 1987 - November 17, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend, Christopher James Eyre, (CJ), 35, of Provo, Utah on November 17, 2022. He brought so much joy, laughter and love into our home and family. He will be sorely missed.

CJ was born in Provo, August 26, 1987, the fifth child in a family of six, to James Orlo and Vinetta Heywood Eyre. Growing up, CJ was a happy child who loved to explore and be outdoors. Despite being picked on at times as the younger brother, he always looked up to his older brothers and sisters. He was also a big brother to Sheri, which finally gave him someone to pick on. Together, all six siblings, (Nathan, Scott, Emily, Stephanie, CJ and Sheri), have always been a tight-knit group, loving and supporting one another and their families. As teenagers most of them worked together at Supersonic Car Wash. Such a fun time!

CJ,s marriage to Kate Doty was blessed with three beautiful girls in their family. Kaitlin, (13) Kaila, (12) and Zoey (9). CJ and Kate would later divorce, but unitedly they remained committed to their girls. He subsequently married the love of his life, Tatiana Carrillos, on June 23, 2018 and instantly welcomed another daughter, Bells, (13) into his life. CJ was truly a devoted, amazing father to these four lucky little girls. There was nothing better than being in nature ,camping, fishing and spending quality time with them and Tati. He was always a hands-on dad who helped with homework and loved to play games. His girls remember playing Smash Brothers tournaments with him where he would always say, “Prepare to get your butts kicked” but then, “we would always be the ones to win”. Without a doubt, CJ’s favorite holiday was Halloween. One family tradition with Tati was they would all dress up in fun creative costumes and have family pictures taken. What a collection!

CJ attended local schools, including Provo High, and later attended UVU. He loved art and was musically talented, playing both the drums and guitar. As a teenager he used those talents to play in a band.  He was a ‘gentle giant’, sometimes goofy but always tender hearted. In his spare time, he would ride his E-bike, loved to paddle board and lay back in his hammock, as well as go fishing and hiking with his best friend big brother Scott.

CJ was hard-working, tech savvy and brilliant with machinery. If he didn’t know how to do something he took time to learn and work it out. Not only did he work long hard hours to support his family but he contributed in many other ways to his employers. Many commented about his engineering skills and how they learned so much from him, thus earning himself positions of responsibility. He worked at US Synthetics for over 14 years before ending his career at Liberty Safe as an engineer.

CJ is survived by his wife Tati, his children; Kaitlin, Makaila, Zoey and Bells. He is also survived by his parents and siblings: Nathan (Lena) Eyre, Scott (Fia) Eyre, Emily (Kevin) Trost, Stephanie (Nate) Carr, and SheriLyn (Nick) Dargel.  He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and in-laws as well. All will miss him dearly. CJ is preceded in death by his respected brother-in-law, Nathan Russell Carr, who we envision was there to welcome him with an invitation to ‘come take a seat by the campfire’.

Also, who can forget CJ’s passion for cooking and making new recipes. He was truly amazing in the kitchen. Sadly, no longer are we able to enjoy his delicious deep-fried turkey at Thanksgiving.

Is there someone you know
You’re loving them so
But taking them all for granted?
You may lose them someday
Someone takes them away
And they don’t hear the words you long to say

I would give anything I own
I’d give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Just to touch you once again

(From ‘Everything I Own’ by Bread / written by David Gates)

Cherish and hug those you love. There is no room for bitterness! Life is too short!
