Christy M. Hood, 54, was returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on March 19, 2021, following a tragic snow mobile accident while living life to the fullest in the mountains that she loved.
Christy was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her children unconditionally and supported and encouraged them in all things. She was a guardian angel in life, always there to help whenever it was needed, and it always seemed like she had all the answers. She was a completely selfless woman.
Christy lived for her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, taking them on horse rides and dressing them up. Her family was always on her mind. She completely adored them.
On March 28, 2019 she married Dave Hood and was the light of his life. They were perfect for each other in every way. In the short two years they were married they had more fun than most do in a lifetime. They enjoyed every minute they could together. She would always say, “Let’s go for a horse ride”. They spent a lot of time in the mountains riding horses, hunting, fishing, or just sitting around a campfire. They were always planning their next adventure together.
She was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved going to the Payson Temple. That was her favorite place where she felt close to her Savior and loved ones that had already joined Heavenly Father.
She will be loved and missed by all.
Christy was the third of ten children born to Raymond Clinger and Roma Janssen. She is survived by her three brothers Rob Janssen, Mike Janssen, Aaron Janssen, and five sisters Kathy Hathaway, Joni LeFevre, Tracy Trujillo, Amy Morgan, and Susy Westerlind.
Christy is also survived by her six loving children Wade Bray, Tanner Bray, Justin Openshaw, Dustin Openshaw, Robbi Riding, and Nikki Bray, as well as 16 grandchildren with three on the way. She was preceded in death by her brother James Masterson Janssen.
A small graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 for family and close friends at 12 p.m. at the Mapleton Cemetery in Mapleton, UT, 620 West Maple Street.

March 25, 2021 at 11:17 pmWorking with Christy was a blessing in my life. She showed me how to “work to live” instead of “live to work”. She was always positive. She loved her husband, kids, and grandkids deeply and would do anything for them. The only consolation in all this heartbreak is that she left this life doing something that she loved with someone that she loved. I pray she didn’t suffer. I will miss her dearly. Love you Christy!!!

March 26, 2021 at 2:35 pmDear Dave and Christine’s family,
Christine was one of the kindest and nonjudgemental personal I met. She also loved our Our Heavenly Father and had a quiet strength that was an example to me. I am sure there are no words that can express how you may feel but I know she will always be close. Her spirit and desire to reach out to those she loved would allow nothing else. God bless you as you remember her incredible spirit.

March 26, 2021 at 4:27 pmI walk by Christy’s desk numerous times a day at work, and think of the sorrow her family is feeling. She always had a smile and made everyone feel better about themselves. I pray for you to feel the comfort of the Holy Ghost in this trying time as well as the love of God and the Savior.

March 27, 2021 at 6:00 pmI am so sad to hear of Christy’s untimely passing just when she seemed to have every thing she always dreamed of. Her conviction to family and friends was always very evident by her compassion towards them. She was a delight to be around and work with at Payson Sports and I will always value the time we had to associate with her then. My condolences to her family and friends at this time.
