Cherryle Orrock Livestream Broadcast

Cherryle Steed Orrock, known affectionately to many as Cherry, left us on April 29, 2025, but her vibrant spirit remains. Born on January 23, 1935, in Logan, UT. Cherryle’s ambitious nature led her to many ventures and achievements throughout her 90 years.

As a talented pianist and vocalist, she was a member of the Madrigal Singers at Brigham Young University. Her inspiring entrepreneurship led her to be a Realtor for Better Homes &  Gardens in Morgan Hill and a Mortgage Broker in Cedar City, Utah. She also served dutifully as a loan officer in the banking industry, adding yet another achievement to her diverse and successful career.

Cherryle was an individual of immense talent and endless love. She poured her heart into her hobbies, which included playing the piano, crocheting, genealogy, and dancing. She was an avid reader and movie enthusiast. Her culinary skills were showcased in a cookbook she wrote, a testament to her love for her family and friends, as she believed in the power of food to bring people together. Her love for family and history led her to write a family history, a cherished heirloom that will pass on to future generations.

Cherryle was an avid traveler! She had been to at least 52 countries, 6 of the 7 continents and all 50 states. She and William had lived in Germany for a few years while he served as a dentist in the Army. She loved traveling and in the last few years she often would reminisce about the many opportunities and adventures she had had over her lifetime. A very common phrase that she would say often was that she had “lived a charmed life”.

Cherryle was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was deeply devoted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was the guiding light in her life, and she served as an accompanist for church music, a seminary teacher, a Relief Society worker, a temple worker, and a family history missionary. In the words of the Book of Mormon, “And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things”; (Moroni 7:45). This verse encapsulates Cherryle’s loving and enduring spirit.

She is survived by her three sons: William (Jill) Orrock Jr. of Woods Cross, UT, Steven (Melanie) Orrock, of Orem, UT, Thomas (Jennifer) Orrock, of Fort Collins, CO, and three daughters: Patricia (Robert) Brigham, of Redwood City, CA, Amy (Dan) Bladh, of Mapleton, UT, and Jessica (Greg) Wheeler, of Mapleton, UT. Also survived by her brother Marlin Steed, 26 grandchildren, and 22 great- grandchildren. Cherryle was preceded in death by her parents Rulon and Genevive Steed, her beloved husband, William Orrock, her son, Joseph Orrock, two sisters, and one brother.

Cherryle’s life will be celebrated at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 970 North 400 East, Mapleton, UT, on Friday morning, May 9th, 2025. Visitation will commence at 9:45 a.m. MDT, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. MDT. Interment will be held at the St. George City Cemetery on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. MDT.

Amy and Family, So sorry about the passing of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. It is always an adjustment, no matter what the age of our loved one. When reading her obituary, we were so impressed with her many accomplishments and the energy that she seemed to maintain until the end. Although we did not know her personally, we will never forget the day she played that beautiful piano solo for the ward. UNBELIEVABLE!! It was obvious that her piano playing brought her great joy, and no doubt it did for all of you every day. Rob and I just wanted to send our love and sympathy at this tender time, and also our well-wishes as you celebrate her remarkable life.
