Chad Edward Houghton January 28, 1960 - December 17, 2024

Chad Edward Houghton was born January 28, 1960, in Nephi, Utah to Reed Houghton and Judy Christensen- Houghton-Warenski. Chad was raised in Salina, Utah and was the 3rd of 8 children: Tobbie (Nick) Lopez, Carrie (Paul) Brotherson, Valarie McCord, Larry Houghton, Kimberly Stickney, Dawna Honeycutt, Judylynn Warenski.

Chad had very close individual bonds with each of his siblings and loved them very much. If you asked his siblings what they remember most about Chad and their childhood, they would say he was the favorite especially his grandma’s favorite.

On May 11, 1984, Chad married the love of his life, Trisha (Jackson) of Spanish Fork, Utah. Family was of the upmost important to Chad. He was blessed with 4 children, Brandi (Cory) Hull of Coalville, UT, Vanessa (Matt) Blaha, Pheonix, AZ, Brandon Houghton, Spanish Fork, UT, and Joshua (Morgan) Houghton, Spanish Fork, UT. He was thrilled when he started to have grandchildren at the age of 40 years old. Each grandchild had their own special place in Chad’s heart. They could talk him into doing nearly anything including making Tik-Tok videos, playing Just Dance, and going on motorcycle rides.

Chad had 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
KaliJo, Cedar RayLyn, Cache, RaNey and Ridger Larsen of Coalville, Ut.,
K.C., Emma, Joseph, and Poppie Ray Eisel of Grayford, Tx.,
Christine, Bobby, Charlie and Boston Perkins of Coalville, Ut.,
Stephanie, Tanner, Beckham, and Owen Powers of Cedar City, Ut.,
Dylan and Tyler Blaha of Pheonix, Az.,
Brock, Brody, Alana and Bryson Houghton of Spanish Fork, Ut.,

Chad was a giant teddy bear and loved anybody he came in to contact with. He was the least judgmental and most forgiving person you could ever know. He made many friends throughout his employments ranging from the oil fields at a very young age, long haul trucking, Geneva Steel, and the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in 2019 and enjoyed working on his meticulous landscape at home, ATV rides, fishing and camping.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Judy, Grandparents, Mother and Father in-law, Patsy and Larry Jackson, sister Kimberly Stickney, brother in-laws, Fred McCord and Shawn Honeycutt, and son in-law, Joseph Eisel.
