Carmela Maria Manzolini, 85, returned to her heavenly home on September 4, 2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness (dementia). Her devotion to her family was unspeakable. She had a strong belief in God which gave her peace in her mind with many struggles in her life and throughout the last stages of her life.
Carmela was born to the late Giovanni Pelosato and Zemira Levorato, in Montebello, Vicentino, Italy on February 14, 1934. She was immersed in the Catholic community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. During World War II, she had to quit school at 3rd grade, and helped her parents with the siblings. Their names were Tony, Lidia, Tina, Bruno, and Beppino. She worked as a silversmith, cooked at a restaurant and for a doctor at his home. She was nanny for a military captain with 7 kids. She had a special love for little children.
Carmela was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Joseph Manzolini in Vicenza, Italy on May 20, 1961. They had one child named Michael Joseph Manzolini.
Carmela is survived by her husband, Joseph, her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Sun Yong Kim, her sisters, Lidia, Tina, and brother Beppino. Grandkids, Meisha, Jessica, Brianna, and Dolton. Great-grand kids, Kaylee, Kaden, Kennady and Cash. Nieces, Loretta and husband Walter, their children Elisa and Irene, Adriana and husband Paolo and their children Riccardo and Anna. Nephew, Gianpietro and wife Vannia, their child Alice.
We loved her; she was a true example of an angel. She will be missed greatly here on earth, but knowing that she is in heaven with God looking out for us is very comforting to our families. She left a special legacy for our families.
Carmela’s funeral mass will be at St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel St. Layton, Utah 84041 on September 17, 2019 at 10:00 am. Carmela will be buried at the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 275 U St., Salt Lake City, Utah 84103 at 12:00 p.m. on September 17, 2019.
