Much too soon, our husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Carl Lynn Lowery, 63, of Springville, Utah, passed away August 8, 2025 in Provo, Utah. He was born in Provo, Utah, on January 30, 1962, to Charles Benjamin Lowery and Fern Maurine Gore Lowery. He grew up in Springville, Utah, attending schools there and graduated from Springville High School, a proud Red Devil, Class of 1980. After high school, Carl attended communications technical school in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On December 27, 1997 in Springville, Utah, Carl married Lisa Snow. Together, they were parents of seven children. He worked as a disc jockey at KSTAR radio station in Orem, Utah; and was also employed in retail sales for many years, to support his family.
Carl enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors, especially if it included his family. He also liked BBQ and all music, but particularly rock & roll music.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lisa; his children: Nicholas, Nathaniel (Callie), Bret, Billie (Julie), Devon; and stepchildren: Joshua (Traci) Diamond, and April Kimber. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandkiddos. Additionally survived by his siblings: Colleen Bagley, Larry (Sherry) Lowery, and Dianna (Tony) Doty. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maurine Lowery; and his brother, Charles Benjamin Phiffer; and his in-laws, Kirk and Kaye Snow.
Carl will be remembered as having a vibrant personality, a great sense of humor, and a distinct easy-to-listen-to voice. He loved his family; and enjoyed great times with his friends and colleagues, even through his life’s health challenges.
There will be a graveside service, where family and friends may gather, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning, August 18, 2025, at Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah 84663.

August 9, 2026 at 8:01 pmCarl Lynn Lowery had a full life.
First his name all grandma and grandpas kids have double consonants in their name. With the arrival of this new guy he was given Carl after Grandpa Hahnel and (Andy) Lynn a very important person to Grandpa Lowery who died on active duty in WWII.
Carl is the youngest of 5 children. His oldest brother while known to all of us or I thought we did, Charles Benjamin reintroduction to the Lowery’s happen approx 1970. This is many years before internet and to find people it was using phone books at local libraries or other paper records were the only way to find people. Our oldest brother grew up with his mother, Dad and Chucks (sunny) mother divorced after the separation of WWII and differences in both people they couldn’t continue, Chuck lives with his mother while he grows up
The following take is a summation of how Chuck was reintroduced to the Lowery Family: First Picture Grandma Lowerys kitchen, way before a dishwasher ever arrived, hand washing all the dishes usually for the entire day sometimes one person wash and air dry; but bigger meals were one wash other dry this is one of those meals Colleen is married with 2 children , Larry is on a mission in South Africa, I’m drying dishes mom is washing. Carl answers a phone you can hear Carl talking then say as he has walked back into the front room stretching that cord, finally “you cannot be my brother he’s in Africa” . Dishes and water splash all over and mom is hustling for a phone. Tears and chatter, mom getting dad. Carls confusion abides in a few minutes after the phone call ended. Mom pulls open a photo of Colleen and Larry she pulls out the photo and in the back is a separate photo of Colleen with Chuck I believe is is 10-12 years old, Carl learns another big brother and is first to speak either Chuck in 35 some odd years.
Now carl loved a good stroller ride a long with things to keep himself occupied. From day one he loved to ride in about anything and kept creating things to do with his own challenges and creations and different friends
Carl has a nak for adventure. At the age of 4 he knew how to start a car and decided to take a playmate home. The 1956 Buick station wagon did not require a key to start and made it up the street and did attempt a right hand turn; but if you are headed east on 4th North there is a long gutter running the full width of the road going up 2nd east. Carl cannot hold the car, the car goes into a tree. These days are old enough you went home at school lunch time to eat, well Grandpa Gore at the house and Mom trying to be calm tears running down her face. Police talking with mom, and Carl the list goes on, grandpa gave me something to eat and sent me back to school. On the way out the photo of the bashed car is sitting on the radio cabinet in the front room. Seems the carls buddy lost a tooth and all playing privileges with Carl revoked this will begin the occasional dipping into family funds for recompense, tickets, accidents, as painting a garage, removal of others items, tree climbing , fence hoping, horses being let out there is a long list of items. Carl loved adventures.
Carl loved youth sports , HS Sports, fishing or just hanging around. He loved Hotdogs cooked with fork on a burner in the kitchen were satisfying and as having a cold hotdog was just as good. No buns required a slice of white bread worked fine, loads of ketchup, and crust removed. These crusts could be found in fireplace or scattered in other hiding places
Now Bowling he loved. Bowling in his adult years, Oh such a Collector of bowling balls all types and styles I assume he knew how to use all of em to get a best score and probably entertain
Candles yes Carl enjoyed them he wanted them lite for various reasons all the time. Always agreed to put them out but he did cause a calamity at home on a couple of occasions, with fire/smoke damage requiring redo of portions of the family home, one of those times is when the house received a POPCORN ceiling.
Yes Carl has a nak for adventure and fun no matter the outcome
He enjoyed learning to work in the radio stations, his audition cassette tapes were a treasure . Writing his resume or intro letters were something. I think radio is his favorite internship he enjoyed the radio business. However radio was changing, going auto and digital, opportunities were in short supply as the changes came.
Marrying Gaila it was with hopes to complete a lifetime, well that did not happen stresses between them began strong after living for a time in AZ and planning a lifetime there, we don’t know what happened he and they were change. They came back to utah and tried to keep it going the best while they worked things out Nicholas and Nathaniel lived at our home for a time, they gave it one more shot and Bret and Billy came along this is the best part is Carl marriage he gained 4 boys and playmates
After the divorce grandma and grandpas home became a sanctuary for not only Carl but the boys, so much so as time went on each boy determined on their own to came live full time and the Lowery Family Home.
Carl did attempt addition to his family with Kristi and another son. As their separation and marriage ended there was much tension, arguments and actuations, Carl did as Grandpa Lowery did those many years ago, and allow this son’s mother to raise him. A decision he did not take lightly.
Along the way he found Lisa a blend of a family. a family with her children who even as adults continued into and out of the Lowery Family home being a part of all the doings. In older lowery family gathering photos you find combined kids with all of us and/carl and Lisa’s photos
Lisa and Carl have an equal connection of similar wit, sarcasm, frankness, love language; than most could not comprehend, it fit them well and Pretty much they are on equal ground. Life and a marriage well lived with all the UPS, DOWNS and INBETWEENS the two have been through knotholes, roses, and poop. Since Carls tramitic injury 17ish years ago they have been able to maintain this connection. An accomplishment in a book of anyone’s life to keep.
When speaking with Carl on the phone it helped if you his articulation arrrr, grrr, iiiiii, these past years often it’s been a one sided communication but every once in a while pretty darn good. Those calls could set you back on your heels you never knew which conversation you were going to have. Visits to his various hospital were either he was having a good day and we could visit or it’s a bad day he would rather not. Carl has not called me by name these past years it finally became sister I’m sure it was used for more than myself, but sister is where we had common ground
The Doty Home can retire a land line soon we kept it’s the number and functional, Carl remembered and he used it when he wanted something or just a chat, again these chats were mostly one sided but always welcome.
These are a few of the short memories there are many more we could share I’ve concentrate on couple of ones and hope they bring a smile and good memory
Carl, god speed to on your journey of Freedom, Family and Friends
Sister
