Carisa Ann Hansen was born September 21, 1975, to Brian Nosack and Christi (Buckwell) Cass. She passed quietly from this life early Friday morning, September 27, 2024, after waging a courageous battle with cancer. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, love for the Savior, her family, friends, and pets. She had a special gift for making friends and had a way of helping everyone feel loved and appreciated.
She leaves a legacy of a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and her faith in the plan of salvation gave her an enlightened view of her purpose and life mission. She took her calling as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher very seriously and put all her energy into sustaining those she loved. She will be sorely missed!
She grew up mainly in West Jordan, Utah with her 3 brothers and stepsister. She graduated from West Jordan High School in 1993 and from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah with an associate degree. She met her eternal companion and best friend when they worked together at Skippers fast food restaurant. They were married in the Jordan River temple on August 12, 1997. Together they have six wonderful children who are the joy of her life!
When Carisa and her husband moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2007, she felt she was finally home because of the abundance of trees and lush green landscape. While living there, she chose to home school her children and taught group classes weekly with the homeschoolers in the area and forged many lifetime friendships.
She has served in many capacities in the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society and Scouting organizations. However, her favorite calling was serving as a seminary teacher. She loved working with the youth. She also loved finding family names and completing ordinances in the temple. It brought her much peace.
Carisa had many talents and shared them through dancing, singing, playing the flute, participating in school and ward plays, cake and interior decorating, cooking, reading, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed being in nature whenever she had the opportunity.
Because she had a beautiful clear singing voice, she was chosen to sing in a choir for the dedication ceremony of the Indianapolis temple which she considered a very special privilege. In an Indiana ward, she participated in a play depicting the parable of The Ten Virgins which was a very touching experience. She also sang in community choirs in Tooele, Utah where she and her husband lived before moving to Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and half-sister. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Lars Wade Hansen, and children: Logan (Kaleigh), Tyler, Joseph, Kailey, Benjamin and Eleanor, maternal grandparents, parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We extend heartfelt thanks for all the prayers offered from family and friends and the care given by the medical community over the last few years.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah.
