Candy J. Barker November 29, 1958 - April 5, 2026

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Candy J. Barker lost her long and courageous battle with cancer on April 5, 2026. She passed away at home in Nephi with her children nearby.

Candy was born on November 29, 1958. She was the daughter of Aurilla Kathryn Jones and Gordon Clyde Tervort of Payson, Utah.

She graduated from Payson High School, where she excelled in track.

She married Richard Kevin Barker on October 28, 1982.

Candy had many jobs through the years, but her favorite was towing with her husband, where she loved showing the boys how to get it done. She retired from another favorite job, driving a school bus for the Juab District.

Candy was a fond lover of animals. She had many pets over the years, including dogs, cats, birds, turtles, rabbits, chickens, and goats.

Candy loved working in the yard and the greenhouse, where she grew beautiful flowers and plants. She truly had a green thumb.

Candy was a great mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and watching TV. She enjoyed Yellowstone and Heartland.

Candy is survived by her four children, Julie (Greg) Daley, Stacy Hansen, Shelley (Josh) North, and Cody Barker. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Kathie Lovesee.  She was also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kevin, both of her parents, and her brother Terry.

Candy’s wish was to be cremated. Her ashes will be spread at a later date.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Huntsman Cancer Institute and everyone at CNS, especially her favorite nurse, Geoff Green.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to any animal shelter in Candy’s name.

Your mom was my play friend. As cousins we played together as kids. My mom would watch her and we had fun running all around the yard. I wished I had the time to tell her goodbye. She has all the Tervort Aunts and Uncles with her family enjoying her welcome. My condolences Rosemary and David Warner
