Bryon Eugene Peterson May 17, 1959 - October 6, 2022

Bryon Eugene Peterson was born on May 17, 1959 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Wayne Eugene Peterson and Arlene Markham. He passed away on October 6th, 2022 at the age of 63.

Growing up as a young boy he was always following his father around to try and figure out what his Dad was doing. As a youth he earned his Eagle Scout and Duty to God awards. He loved sports and played football, basketball, and participated in track and field in high school. He was named Inspirational Athlete at Spanish Fork High School his senior year. Bryon played basketball, fast pitch and slow pitch softball for years and won many games playing with his buddies. He enjoyed the competition and being around his friends. He umpired slow pitch softball for USSSA and Spanish Fork Recreation, along with helping coach sophomore basketball and baseball at Spanish Fork High School for a few years in the 1980’s. He enjoyed being with and coaching the players that played for him. Bryon was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was always watching or attending their games whenever he and Carrie could, especially in San Diego.

He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1977. He continued his education at Snow Junior College and the University of Utah, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Go Utes!

Bryon married his high school sweetheart Carrie Roach on June 20, 1980 in the Manti Temple. Together they have three daughters and one son; Amberly (JT) Collett, Ashley (Dusty) Henningson, Alecia (Andrew) Jensen and Brooks (Analisha) Peterson.

He and Carrie have 13 grandchildren (Maddox, Cortlynn, Braiden, Gavin, Kyson, Hayden, Dallin, Alexis, Emma, Bryli, Hailey, Chelsey and Atreyu) that he just adores, and loved to spend time with them and tease them whenever he had the chance.

Bryon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings during his life.

Professionally, Bryon spent his career working in and managing Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments for Nature’s Sunshine Products, MonaVie, Innovative FlexPak and LifeVantage. He enjoyed the associations that he made with many of his co-workers over the years.

He and Carrie have a second home in Southern Utah (Ivins) that he enjoyed going to and spending time in the warmer weather. He loved to ride his mountain bike on the trails. He and Carrie enjoyed attending the plays at the Tuacahn Amphitheater and donated to the performing arts.

He is survived by his true love Carrie, daughters Amberly (JT) Collett – Spanish Fork, Ashley (Dusty) Henningson- Salem, Alecia (Andrew) Jensen – Spanish Fork and son Brooks (Analisha) Peterson – Salem, 13 grandchildren, sister Valinda Hanks, brother Kelly (Alison) Peterson both of Salem and father and mother in law, Gary and Carma Roach of Spanish Fork. Dear Peterson Family, I am so sorry for your sudden loss. I also had the pleasure of working with Bryon for the last almost five years, just like Becky. I’ve had a great deal of admiration and respect for him not only as a co-worker but as a human being. I always felt honored whenever he would talk with me or ask for my opinion because I knew it was not something to take lightly. The service today was beautiful. An amazing man with an amazing family. I could see much of him in each of you. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers in the difficult months to come.

    Carrie and Family,
I just saw this. I am so sorry for your loss. I don’t know the details of Bryon’s passing. You probably don’t remember me but I worked with Bryon at Natures Sunshine. The contact that I had with him was always pleasant. He had such integrity and you knew that if he said he would do something or be somewhere, he would be there. He was very professional and yet personable as well. He had a great sense of humor. I hope I run into you in Spanish Fork somewhere so that I can give you a hug.
My best to you and your family..
