Brian Q. Hoagland December 26, 1955 - July 18, 2020

Brian Quintin Hoagland was born on December 26, 1955 in Provo Utah, to Elmo and Lorna Hoagland. He passed away on July 18, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife: Pamela Hoagland and children: Korey Hoagland of Santaquin Utah, Callie (Jay) Madison of Nampa Idaho, Tracey (Cory) Warner of Nampa Idaho, and Derik (Chelsea) Hoagland of Springville Utah, and stepchildren: Kacey (Robert) Robins of Provo Utah, and Donald Whitehead of Eagle Mountain Utah. He leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchild. In addition, he is survived by his siblings: Gayle (Mike) Corrigan of Orem Utah, Gerry (Elaine) Hoagland of Salem Utah, Pamela (Allen) Willden of Plain City Utah, Jinnene (Mike) Ward of West Jordan Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo; his mother, Lorna; his brother, Jon; his partner, Annette Pierce; and his step-son, James Whitehead.
Brian grew up on Grandview Hill in Orem Utah and spent his days outside acquiring an ambition and knowledge for the outdoors, that he carried with him his whole life. For those of us who were blessed to share his love for adventure knew his desire for knowledge had no end.
Brian moved to Springville Utah when he was 13, where he attended Springville High and met his first wife Cindy Snelson. They later went on to have four children, Korey, Callie, Tracey, and Derik, and in 1995 they divorced.
After high school he gained a passion for welding that led him to join UA Local 140 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, where he received his journeyman’s card. Through the years he achieved a multitude of certifications in his field that led him to be one of the most renowned and sought after welders in the union. He worked for many companies throughout the years and finally found a home with IMC where he worked for many years until he retired in 2017.
However, his ambitions didn’t end there he embraced life and strived to get the most out of everything he did, whether it be his family or his hobbies. In his early twenties he joined the Springville riding club, where he found fulfillment in riding horses with his brother Jonny, which they continued doing for many years. He discovered the thrill of dirtbike racing, this drove him to the adrenaline rush of attempting the Widowmaker hill climb. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a love for spending the day on the water fishing or in the mountains hunting. Brian also enjoyed traveling, from ATVS to planes he explored as many locations as he could. His passion for the outdoors was shared with his children and grandchildren making unforgettable memories. Bowling, trap shooting, and cowboy action shoots were also things he found much interest in.
He then met Pamela Kuhstoss, the love of his life, and they got married on October 21, 2016. Later in life he found a new challenge in the game of golf, where he and his wife Pamela shared many days together creating memories on the course.
There wasn’t a problem too small or too big that Brian couldn’t solve, and not one thing he couldn’t fix. Whether it be how to check the oil in your car to can you help me build this… he was always there. No matter what he always knew the right thing to say when you needed a word of advice. Brian was a loving husband and caring father and he will be missed beyond measure. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Brian has always been a favorite cousin. I remember him spending the summer at our house in California. I think he worked a summer job with Sherman and Mark. Every time I would see him at his moms or at a reunion I looked forward to talking to him, he would always greet me with a hug and the familiar “how ya doin’ Stef”. I went with him, Lorna and my mom, Joe Ann to pick fresh asparagus, that was fun.
