Brent Andrew Wheeler October 22, 1950 - July 5, 2019

Brent Andrew Wheeler was born in Ogden, Utah to Andrew Fronk Wheeler and Mary Arlene Harris on October 22, 1950.  He spent his childhood years in the Ogden and Roy areas.  His boyhood was greatly influenced by his dear grandparents, William Andrew and Lucy Wheeler.  After graduating from Roy High School in 1968, Brent attended Weber State University.  A year later he served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Florida Mission.  After his mission, he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  Brent married Yvonne Harris in January 1975 and they had five children—four sons and a daughter—and lived in the Portland, Oregon area.  They later divorced.  His career was spent as a tax manager for several banking and construction companies.  He married Martha Ellen Harris in the Salt Lake Temple in January 2002.  Many of Brent’s hobbies included refereeing high school basketball, family history work, computers, military history, BYU sports, and the Seattle Seahawks.  He always appreciated classical music and hymns usually moved him to tears.  Brent deeply loved the temple.  He served in the Oquirrh Mountain, Provo, and Payson temples as an ordinance worker and supervisor.  His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Brent endured a 10-year battle with cancer before passing peacefully in the early morning on July 5th.

Brent is survived by his dear wife, Martha; his five children: Scott (Andrea) Wheeler, Ryan (Laura) Wheeler, Julie (Ryan) Boyer, Shawn (Lauren) Wheeler, and Derek (Joslin) Wheeler; four step children: Clark, Ben, Miles, and John Ruttinger; 28 grandchildren and one on the way; his siblings: Mark (Karen) Turley, Paul (Laurie) Turley, Connie (Craig) Bott, Reed Turley, and several cousins and in-laws.
