Our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Brandon D. Barney, passed away November 12, 2022. He was born July 1, 1986, to his parents, Trina and Lynn Barney.
Brandon was known as the prankster of the family, trying to keep a smile on everyone’s faces. He enjoyed riding bikes, fishing, and anything outdoors with his nieces and nephews.
He always had the biggest smile on his face.
Brandon, we were blessed to have you a part of our lives. You will be missed every day, until we meet again.
He is survived by his parents; brother and very best friend, Nathon (Paradise) Barney; sister, Jamie Bloom; three nieces: Sue, Sadie, and Kiara; and five nephews: Braiden, Mayson, Drayke, Kemper, and Ryatt; as well as lots of aunts and uncles and cousins. Brandon also had many friends, whom he loved very much.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. The funeral service will also be at Walker Funeral Home, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery, at a later date.

November 15, 2022 at 12:42 amTrina and Lynn I’m so sorry for your loss. This has got to be so hard for you. I love you both so much. If there is anything I can do. Please don’t hesitate to call. I wish I could come up to support you during this difficult time but have major company coming in to town. Becky was worried about me being alone and has lined up all these people for me. I want you to know you are in my prayers and heart though.

November 16, 2022 at 10:32 pmWith a heavy heart, I express my sincere condolences to Brandon’s family. I’ve known Nate for years and although I’d heard of Brandon, I never got to meet him until last year. Immediately we became really close friends and I can say that I enjoyed every bit of time I was graced to spend as his friend. I am so saddened to hear of the news and tears immediately ran down my face as I tried to gather some sense of stability to hear of the tragic and premature ending to such a vibrant soul who brought so much bliss and joy to those of us who struggled with homelessness, depression and instability. The world feels like a lonelier place without him and I want to sincerely thank his parents who may not have been acquainted with many of us but know that we also have been impacted by this event and feel tremendous grief. We were highly impacted by the kindness and passion by which he lived out his life. It was evident by his integrity and character that he was a product of a very loving set of parents and family who were concerned for his well being and wanted to see him on a successful path to live out his potential. Though sometimes stories take an unanticipated turn and end sooner than we would wish, just know that he has left an imprint on our souls and will always be remembered as a solid friend whose humor and compassion for life serves as a reminder for each of us to treasure each moment and continually bless the lives of those who surround us. May our Lord bless you in this unbelievably difficult time and console you as you strive to adjust to this major change in your lives. With much love and respect, -Chuck.

November 17, 2022 at 6:14 pmBrandon was such a good ball and was always joking. He is one of the main reasons I’m with the girl I’m going to marry even though he had his differences with her. He told me how much she loved me and that she really needed me and that’s when I asked her to come home. I am grateful to have known you and for the smiles you brought into my life. I know you’re in heaven with a bicycle torn apart throwing the upgrades on it right now. Until we meet again Brandon shine down on all of us with your sneaky pranks
