Boyd Allen Reynolds passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Boyd was born on April 16, 1945, in Payson, Utah, to Reed and Ileen Reynolds. He spent his entire life in the small farming community of Benjamin, Utah, a place he cherished deeply and where he was proud to raise his family and carry on generations of tradition and hard work.
On August 1, 1963, Boyd married his high school sweetheart, Janet Christensen, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they built a life filled with faith, devotion, and love. A true example of enduring companionship, Boyd and Janet made it a priority to spend meaningful time together, especially celebrating their anniversaries. One of his fondest memories was their 35th anniversary Alaskan cruise, a trip he often recalled with a smile.
Boyd began working at Geneva Steel shortly after his marriage and later worked for Nature’s Sunshine. Raised on a farm, he never strayed far from his roots. He found great joy in working the land and tending his gardens. His love for the outdoors extended to hunting and camping. He was often the camp cook, preparing hearty breakfasts for the family during countless mountain trips. Time spent in nature, especially hunting with his sons and grandsons, was among his most treasured.
Above all, Boyd’s greatest joy came from his family. He loved family vacations, camping, NASCAR trips and especially Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings where his home was filled with love, laughter, and generations of memories. He was a steadfast supporter of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, rarely missing a ballgame, sometimes attending several in one day to cheer them on.
When he wasn’t watching sports, Boyd was often on the field or court officiating them. For decades, he refereed high school basketball, football, baseball, and softball, building lasting friendships with his fellow officials. His commitment to the game and his community was widely admired.
Boyd remained active throughout his life, enjoying early morning walks with close friends until recent health challenges slowed him down. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially old favorites he had seen many times before.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Boyd served faithfully in many callings, including as Elders Quorum President and ward clerk. Later in life, he found deep spiritual fulfillment serving in the temple; work that brought him great peace and purpose.
Boyd is survived by his children: Kimberley, Allan (Maria), Burke (Jennifer), and JaNell; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Faye Moore and Lindon (Joy) Reynolds.
Boyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet; his parents; his sister Carol; his brother Jerry (Lynette); and his in-laws Morris “Bill” and Evelyn Argyle Christensen.
Boyd will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering faith, dedication to family, and the deep love he had for the land and life he lived. His legacy lives on through the family he loved and the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and example.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, located at 187 S Main Street in Spanish Fork. A second viewing will take place on Friday, July 11, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Benjamin 1st Ward Chapel, 3278 West 7300 South in Benjamin. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Boyd will be laid to rest at the Benjamin Cemetery, beside his beloved wife, Janet.
