Blanche L. Jones of West valley City, UT died September 17,2020 of heart failure and other complications. Blanche was born in Denver, CO on January 21, 1928 to Harry Dardarian and Annie R (Denison) Dardarian. Shortly after her birth, her mother married Jim Williams. Blanch considered herself as his daughter and went by the name of Blanche Williams.
Blanche was the fifth of eight children. She is survived by three children: George E (Ilene) Jones of Spanish Fork, Brad D. (Amy) Jones of West Valley City, and Blaine R. (Cynthia) Jones of West Valley City. Blanche’s surviving siblings are Della (Williams) Leek of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mary K. (Williams) Drake of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Jones; three sons: Ira L., Stanley L., and Dennis Jones; three daughters: Eileen Brereton, Peggy S. Jones, and Sandra L. Craven; three grandchildren; her parents; and five siblings.
Blanche was raised in Denver, Colorado, where she attended grade school, junior high, and high school. In 1946, she moved from Denver, Colorado, to Thistle, Utah, because her mother had accepted a job running the “beanery” for the Rio Grande Railroad. She met her future husband, George L. Jones, there. They were married later that year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
George’s career as a railroader kept them living in Thistle until 1964, when they moved to Spanish Fork. In 1966, they moved to West Valley, where she remained mostly, except for a 4-year period, when she lived with her son, George, in Spanish Fork.
Despite living a tough life in which she had to face many tragedies, she always had a great sense of humor and could easily entertain those who surrounded her. She made friends easily and kept them. She loved all children and they loved her. She loved to GO anywhere. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Sonrise Baptist Church located at 3550 South 4400 West in West Valley, UT. Friends and family may also visit at the church on Saturday morning, September 26, for one hour before the services. Funeral services for Blanche will be held at the same site on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.

September 23, 2020 at 4:44 pmShe was one of the most beautiful and genuine people I had ever met. An extremely loving person who always had a smile and warm embrace to share. I deeply regret not spending more time with her. May she rest in peace and know how truly loved she was and still is.

September 28, 2020 at 2:23 amI am so sorry for your loss. I have so many happy memories of my ‘other mother.’ My heart goes out to you. I remember trips to Denver, Yellowstone, and South Dakota.
I think it’s funny that I ended up a Jones after all. It must have been fate.
I remember the hunt for a Christmas tree, painting tags, the swap meet, watching Mikey and Baby Blaine.
Mostly I remember her kindness and that she always had a song in her heart.
‘May the good lord bless and keep you…..’ That is my hope for all of you.

She was so very much loved and cared for by everyone, I really hope she knew that. She’s still my best friend, no one can replace her.
