Blaine H. Moore March 24, 1931 - August 13, 2020

Blaine H. Moore was born to Claribel and Huish Moore in Payson, Utah, on March 24, 1931. He was the oldest of five children. In high school, Blaine participated in football and was named to the 1949 All-State Shrine Bowl. He also played the trumpet in the band.

He served a church mission to the Oklahoma Central States Mission from 1950-1952. After returning home, he married Lael McKell in the Manti Temple, June 12, 1953.

Blaine earned his bachelor’s degree in 1954, in Elementary Education. In his education career, he taught elementary school and then served as a principal in Payson, Utah. He went on to earn his master’s degree from BYU, and his doctoral degree, in 1969, from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, Colorado. For 29 years, he taught elementary education courses at Brigham Young University. He retired in 1996, and he and his wife served a CES mission in Tonga, working with the schools in the islands.

Blaine loved the outdoors and spent time hunting and especially fishing whenever he could. Music was a big part of his life. He enjoyed attending concerts at BYU for many years. Because of his experiences in high school, he was an avid BYU football fan and loved watching and listening to the games.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a Bishop, on the high council, and as a Patriarch. He and Lael found joy working together as temple workers in the Provo and Payson temples.

He is survived by his wife, Lael McKell Moore, of Spanish Fork, and their children: David and Delerie Moore of Victorville, California, and their daughters: Kara and Michelle; Kathy and Kelly Elmer of Highland, Utah, and their children: Scott, Melissa, Mark, Kevin, Kristi, and Kalli; Karen and Steve Higginson of Casper, Wyoming, and their children: Mindy, Michael, Kelsey, and Nathan; Steven and Paula Moore of Ely, Nevada, and their children: Zachary, Hannah, and Rebecca; Marianne and Douglas Beazer of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and their children: Heidi, Lindsey, Jacob, Hailey, Caleb, Tyler, and Ian; 28 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Barbara Malsltrom of Rexburg, Idaho, and Anita Moore of Spanish Fork, Utah; and his brother, Samuel Moore of Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mary Ann.
