Beverly June Bryson Clements was taken from us abruptly due to COVID-19 on Friday, October 9, 2020. She was born as the last child of eight to Perrigren and June Bryson on June 21, 1926 in Marysvale, Utah. She met Joseph Wesley Clements Jr. after he returned from serving as a Marine in Japan during World War II. Ten months later, they were married in Hollywood, California on November 23, 1946. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles, California Temple on June 15, 1957. They lived the early years of their marriage in Southern California. Together they had five children, Joseph, June, James, and twins John and Jay.
Beverly and Joe eventually made their home in Yuba City, California. Beverly was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Her grandchildren would say she was a “good cooker.” She loved quilting and looked forward to doing it full time after she retired from the accounting department at Yuba College. Beverly made many beautiful quilts for her loved ones and quilted them all by hand. One day as she was quilting, she had the thought, “there’s more to life than this.” The next day Beverly and Joe were asked by their former stake president, who was currently serving as a mission president, to serve in the mission office in the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beverly loved working in the mission office and spending time with the missionaries that would come and go. Beverly was always a faith-filled member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in cub scouts, primary, as a visiting teacher, in the Relief Society presidency and Stake Primary presidency.
Beverly had an adventurous side. When she and Joe retired, they spent most of their time traveling the world and going on many cruises. At 84-years-old, Beverly was brave enough to get on the Indiana Jones Adventure ride with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! She screamed like a teenager, “remember this for my obituary!” On Thanksgiving Day, and their 60th wedding anniversary, Joe and Beverly moved to Payson, Utah, to live closer to their only daughter, June. Beverly loved being surrounded by church members and rejoiced when the Payson, Utah Temple was built just a few blocks from her home. She also enjoyed making friends and playing cards at the Payson Senior Center. One of Beverly’s greatest accomplishments, outside of her family, was her extensive family history work. She was a descendant of many wonderful Utah pioneers. Her sleuthing brought to light the many family links that had been lost over the years. Beverly lost her parents while she very young, which inspired her tireless work to join generations through temple sealing. Beverly or “Grammy,” as she was affectionately known, was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished.
Beverly was stubborn and hard working. She was also known for her sweet and cheerful disposition that continued into her 94th year. She enjoyed incredibly good health, until contracting COVID-19, and credited her healthy longevity to living the Word of Wisdom, a principle taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In every situation, Beverly had a hymn to sing as gentle reminders to her family. Her devotion to God, family and the Church was eternal. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, one brother, husband; two sons, Joseph and James; her granddaughter, Michaela; and grandsons, Todd and Troy. She is survived by her children: June, John, Jay, and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services for Beverly will be by family invitation, and will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 11 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be required for those invited to attend the services. The funeral services will be live-stream-broadcast via the Internet. Private interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery.

October 18, 2020 at 11:33 pmAunt Beverly was special to me, as was Uncle Joe. They were both wonderful people and I loved them. Beverly always was so welcoming and interested in me and made sure I knew that she loved me. And, I certainly loved her. In fact, Beverly treated all her family and friends in the same way. She may be the nicest person I ever knew. When my daughter, Christine, moved to Sacramento to go to Sac State, Beverly and Joe adopted her as their own, making countless trips to visit my homesick daughter and bring her cakes and pies. When my son, Brian, moved there for law school, she did the same thing. She was a mom in the best possible way
Beverly was the last of the Bryson girls and the end of an era. I miss her dearly.
I am sorry I cannot attend her service and see my cousins once again, but I am in a wheelchair and travel is impossible for me. Please know that I am there with you in spirit.
