Betty Mae Llewellyn Funeral Service

Betty Mae Llewellyn, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 93. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Born on April 11th, 1931, in the quaint town of Nephi Utah, Betty was the oldest daughter of George Harrison Chambers and Lenora Chambers Davis. Her brother Leo and sister Marian followed soon after. She grew up in a close-knit family, cherishing the simple joys of life and learning the values of compassion and resilience from her parents.

Betty’s life was defined by her deep love for her family. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Leo Max Llewellyn, on May 16th, 1949, in the Manti Utah Temple and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. They were blessed with seven children, Phillip, Teri, Kathie, Douglas, Wendy, and the cabooses Jason and Jared whom Betty nurtured with boundless affection and care. As a mother, she was the epitome of patience and understanding, always offering a listening ear and sage advice, also no matter who you were, she always welcomed you with loving arms, a warm meal, and a place to sleep.

Throughout her life, Betty was known for her unwavering faith and dedication to her community and Church. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she found solace in her spiritual beliefs and formed lifelong friendships. Betty had many callings in the church, ranging from Relief Society President to working with the Cub Scouts. Her compassionate heart extended beyond her family and church; she also volunteered tirelessly with Max as an American Legionnaires Wife (Patriotic Veterans Organization) and the VFW “Veterans of Foreign Wars” offering her time and support to their missions to mentor youth and support programs in communities. Which consisted of many activities, including parades, memorials, dedications, and funeral honor guard detail. And traveled to many National Conventions as a Commanders wife in both auxiliaries for many, many years.

Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. She and Max were blessed with 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Whether baking cookies together in the kitchen or sharing stories in her favorite chair by the heater, she cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, and creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

She worked as a seamstress in a sewing plant for a while. And she loved to make clothes for her family. She also worked at NuSkin for many years when she was older as a team leader in the warehouse alongside her daughters. She was a very hard worker with a strong work ethic, and she passed that along to her children. She always impressed those young whipper snappers there.

In her later years, Betty continued to embrace life with grace and dignity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening, reading, and spending time with loved ones. Her resilience and positive outlook on life were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Betty will be dearly missed by her children, Phil (Charlotte), Teri (Dennis) Pearson, Kathie (Danny) Haws, Doug, Wendy (Byron) Smith, Jason, Jared (Amy), her extended family, and countless friends. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Betty Mae Llewellyn was a shining example of Christ like love, kindness, and compassion, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and cherished by many. Until we meet again.
