Audra Mortensen Livestream Broadcast

Our kind, loving, beautiful Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Niece, Cousin, Aunt, Friend and Neighbor, Audra Marie Davis Mortensen, 43, passed away peacefully in her home in Salem, Utah, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She courageously, valiantly battled cancer for three years. She’s our Wonder Woman and our Warrior Princess!

Audra was born April 22, 1982 in Gunnison, Utah to Bill and Laurie Davis. She grew up in Centerfield and attended the old elementary school and 7th and 8th grades in the Gunnison Valley High School. There was no middle school at that time. She was always a good student. She loved to learn and she loved her teachers, friends, and classmates. She was an honor roll student and belonged to the Honor Society. She participated on the Speech and Debate Team in high school. She was on the Drill Team her Freshman year, and was a cheerleader during her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Audra graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and LDS Seminary with the Class of 2000.

She loved to dance and was enrolled in dance classes from kindergarten through college. She tried all kinds of dance: tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, western swing, and clogging. And since she was in high school drill team and cheerleading, that allowed her to dance ever more! It was always fun to watch the grace and athleticism of the drill team and cheerleaders during the year, and especially at competition time. The dance she loved most, however, was clogging which she participated in from first grade throughout college. She was a member of that elite class of cloggers in high school through Dance Works Studio where they would perform the finale dance routine and bring down the house during Spring recitals. That group was fun to watch!

After high school, Audra attended Snow College and LDS Institute in Ephraim, Utah, where she earned her Associate of Science Degree from Snow College, with the Class of 2002. She then earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design, in 2004, from Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Audra’s employment, some of which was during the years she was attending college, was with Utah Valley University as a financial aid counselor from August 2002 – July 2008. She then worked at Ameritech College from January 2011 – February 2013 as a financial aid advisor; then from February 2013 – March 2025, she was the financial aid compliance and work study coordinator for Western Governors University. She enjoyed that she was able to work from home during her tenure with WGU.

Audra married David Mortensen on May 29, 2004, in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. Together, they have five children, a son and four daughters. They built their home in Salem, Utah. She created a lovely, warm, orderly home for her family. Audra loved to cook and made many delicious meals for birthday parties and holiday parties. She was teaching her children how to cook. She taught them many household skills. She became quite the seamstress, making pretty quilts, pillowcases, purses, and a variety of other items. Audra loved to go camping in the mountains with her family. Many times, she prepared camping tee-shirts, fun crafts for the kids to do, and scrumptious meals for Camp Davis. She taught her children many camping skills. She also loved getting together with her sister to work on crafts. They created beautiful items that they gave away as gifts; and, also decorated their homes with. Such fun they had together doing crafts. She so loved to decorate her home for every holiday!

Audra knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that her most important jobs were those of wife and mother, which she took seriously. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother. She loved having fun with her kids at home and on outings – all the talking, sharing, and laughing they did together. She felt it a priority to prepare her children for life.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her ward and served happily and generously in the Primary activity days, and in the Relief Society. She had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was so grateful for her testimony while fighting cancer.

Her family will miss all the get-togethers she orchestrated, the good food, playing games, talking, laughing, and her great personality. We will miss her goodie bags made for every party. We will miss her sense of humor, her intelligence, her laugh, her smile, her love, her generosity and her sass! The world is a sadder, lonelier place without Audra and we will miss her terribly. We are heartbroken, until we see her again.

Audra is survived by her husband, David Mortensen of Salem, Utah; her children: son, Asher; and her four daughters: Everly, Brielle, Kaia, and Sadie. She is also survived by her parents, Bill and Laurie Davis of Centerfield, Utah; her brothers: Jeremy (Marissa) Davis of Payson, Utah; Aaron (Lacy) Davis of Nephi, Utah; her sister, Heather (Tanner) Mieure of Orem, Utah; and by her 95-year-old grandmother, Betty Davis of Centerfield, Utah. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, William Earl Davis, Donald Lorn Welch, and Sandra Jean Brown.
