Arlee Mae Angell (Sherman) passed away peacefully in her home on April 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 84.

She was born in Kellogg, Idaho on May 27, 1937, the only child of Walter Earl and Clintina Marie Sherman Nicholson.

She was a 1955 graduate from Kellogg High School and a 1959 graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. While in Nursing School, she met and married the love of her life, Al Angell, on March 29, 1958.

Arlee loved dancing with her husband; when they were first married, they went dancing as often as they could. Together they taught hundreds to dance at dance festivals throughout Oregon. Everyone could see their love for each other whenever they danced.

Arlee spent all her personal and professional life taking care of others. For 40 years, she served the communities she lived in as a registered nurse. She worked both at hospitals and in private practices, but her favorite was caring for the newborn babies in Labor and Delivery. She was loved and adored by all who knew her, worked with her, or crossed paths with her.

Arlee loved many things in her life, which she shared with others. She had a great love for quilting, and gifted many of her quilts to family and friends. She loved finding beauty in the world, whether it was beauty in people, pictures, or in nature. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved flowers. She would spend time being in nature as often as she could. Her love of gardening was apparent wherever she lived, with flowers and trees surrounding her home. She loved growing vegetables and shared that love with others, as well. She also loved to spend time working on her family history, connecting her living family with those who had gone before. She had a great love for her family.

Arlee is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-four years, LeGrande Alwinn Angell, her five children and their spouses, Kathy and Walter Tovar, Gary Angell, Greg and Lauralee Angell, Ryan and Jill Angell, and Michelle and Rick Leavitt, her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

I was blessed to be closely associated with Arlee while I grew up. Michelle, her daughter, was one of my closest friends. Sister Angell was always so very kind and supportive. I always enjoyed being around her. I last spent time with her this past summer for a couple of hours and enjoyed her sweet spirit. We love you, Angell Family. May God give you the peace and love you need at this time. We are praying for you all.
