April Ann Ellison April 27, 1974 - March 25, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of April, age 50, on March 25, 2025.  April’s bright spirit and warmth left a mark on all who knew her.  A devoted mother, loving grandmother, and cherished spouse, April had a heart full of love that touched the lives of her family and friends in ways that words cannot fully capture.

April was the type of person who could light up a room with her infectious laughter.  She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved.  Her generosity, kindness, and support were a source of strength for those lucky enough to call her a friend.

Above all, April cherished her family.  She was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and amazing wife always putting others before herself.  Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and her home was a place where love, laughter, and joy thrived. She was always there for her family; she loved to get them on the phone or Facetime to shoot the breeze, and to share in both their triumphs and struggles.

April loved the outdoors. She loved camping and hanging out around the campfire.  She loved to zip around in the SXS.  She loved to go on long drives just to see what was out there.  She loved crafting, gardening, and baking delicious desserts.  At a younger age, she was an avid runner and loved to tap dance.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her loved ones who will carry forward her spirit of kindness, love, and joy.

April is survived by her spouse, John Peer; her sons, Aaron and Taylor Sauter of Lehi; and Logan and Kaitlyn Sauter of Tooele; and her daughter, Hailey and Corbin Hansen of Eagle Mountain. She is survived by her two brothers, Jared and Derek.  She is also survived by her beloved eight grandchildren (with one more on the way), as well as a wide circle of family and friends who will forever remember the light she brought into their lives.  April is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Ray Ellison and LeAnn Wilkinson Ellison; her daughter, Cassidy Norma Shelton; and a sister, Andrea Zumwalt.

A celebration of April’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 5, 2025, at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.

April, you will be deeply missed, but your love, laughter, and the light you brought into the world will never fade!

I was deeply saddened to learn of April’s passing. Though we hadn’t spoken in years, she was a dear friend during our time at Wells Fargo. She was incredibly supportive, both professionally and personally, and her kindness made a lasting impact on me.
I’ll never forget her advice about love: ‘Never give up. Don’t sabotage your relationships. It will happen when you least expect it.’ That wisdom has stayed with me through the years.
I’m still in shock. She seemed so vibrant on Facebook. It’s comforting to think she’s now reunited with her daughter and parents at the Spirit World transitioning to a better place, free from earthly struggles. She is now on her second stage of her existence. She never dies. Even though we won’t see her and hear her voice, she can listen through our prayers. While the loss is painful, knowing she lives on in spirit offers some solace.
My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. May your memories of April bring you comfort, and may she hear our prayers.”

My deepest condolences to your family.
Life is truly short. April is like a little sister to me. We met in our 20’s working at Convergys; then, I left to California and when I came back… worked together again at WellsFargo. We always kept in touch over the years. Even when we did not talk for a long period, we always continued our conversation from where we left off. Talked about going to dinner with our spouses. My little sister, life will be harder without our short conversations. Only you could understand how hard it was to lose a child. It always seems that life is taken away by the greatest people on earth. I will miss you my dearest sister.
May God bless your next journey.
