Anna Clair Beck Celebration of Life

Anna Clair Horton Beck, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023, at her home in Goshen, Utah surrounded by her family. Anna Clair was born to Reed and Mary Horton on January 04, 1944, in Payson, Utah. “Little Blondie”, as she was called by her father, was the only daughter, and the fourth of six children.

Anna attended Goshen School from kindergarten to ninth grade, and then attended Payson High School where she graduated with the class of 1962. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City later that same year.

In 1962 Anna was introduced to Larry Beck at a Goshen town social event. They were married on December 14, 1962. Anna and Larry were blessed with four children who, along with their spouses and grandchildren, were their greatest joy.

Anna and Larry loved raising their children in Goshen, Utah. In 1978, they bought the mercantile in Goshen, and it became “Beck’s Market”. Anna and Larry ran Beck’s Market for the next 10 years.

Anna enjoyed many hobbies, including crocheting for her loved ones, reading, going for long drives and keeping up on current events and politics. She served as a volunteer for many years as an election worker and loved to be a part of the democratic process for her community. Anna loved her hometown and was committed to doing her part in helping lift where she could. She loved to be a part of her “seniors” group at the Goshen Senior Citizen Center and treasured the many new and lifelong friendships that came from time spent there.

Anna’s greatest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. Some of the most cherished times for Anna were the annual summer family reunions, many of which were centered around the Goshen Town Celebration. During these times she was able to spend time with her loved ones and make lifelong memories together. It seems only fitting that Anna’s life will be celebrated on the very weekend that meant so much to her and her family. Anna fulfilled her role as the matriarch of the Beck family, and she left a living legacy made up of her family that will always be cherished.

Anna is survived by her children, Blake (Angie) Beck, Stephanie (Jeff) Spencer, Jay (Mindi) Beck, Jerry (Aimee) Beck, and 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Gary and Paul Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents, and three brothers.

Anna spent a lifetime seeking, learning, and enriching her relationship with Jesus Christ. She never deviated from her belief that her journey on this earth would ultimately lead her back to the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah. Interment will be in the Goshen Town Cemetery at a later date.

What a wonderful lady. The world is a whole lot sadder with out her. Her and Larry were great people. At least we know they are together again.

Growing up in Goshen, Anna Clair and Larry were always good to me. I just moved back to Goshen over two years ago and Anna Clair was the first to welcome me back. She made me feel welcome and important. She was always there for me when I had a question or needed help. She is what I call an “insta-friend.” When I first ran into her again it was like she was instantly my friend. I will miss her. Love to her and her family.
