It is with a heavy heart that I, her daughter Jennifer, am writing a small tribute about my mama. Ann Louise Andersen, 72 passed through the veil Tuesday, November 23, 2021 with her loving furry best friend Lily Mae by her side.
It was a snowy day on March 3, 1949 in Spanish Fork Utah when she made her grand entrance into this world. The day her parents brought her home from the hospital there were spring flowers. She is the oldest child of Lloyd and Carma Andersen.
Her first few years were spent in Provo, Utah in the winter months. Her summers were spent logging with her parents and grandparents in Island Park Idaho. Later they moved to Edgemont and from there to Orem Utah. She was an Orem High School 1967 Graduate Tiger. Also she graduated after 4 years in the LDS Seminary Program. She loved being in the Marching Band playing her Clarinet. After graduation she landed a job to work at Sequoia National Park in California. She was able to work there for the next two summers. This was her heaven on earth! This is one of her most favorite places to be in the world. After her last summer there, she attended UVU (Trade Tech). She assisted in coming up with the Wolverine mascot and their first logo. She studied to be a secretary. In the middle of the graduation ceremony she decided that this isn’t what she wanted to do. She then decided to go back to college and continued her education at BYU. She’s a loyal cougar fan and in her own words “her blood runs blue!” She received her degree in Elementary Education and minored in Art.
She started her new teaching career in Duchesne Utah for 2 years, then took a job in Neola for 8 Years and finally settled in Roosevelt Utah for an additional 22 Years. During this time she enjoyed the extra curricular activities with her students. Which included the starting of Sunrise Singers and later changed to Musical Mustangs. She was avid about tutoring some of her students that struggled in their schoolwork. She made a difference in their education and personal lives. She then retired through Duchesne County School District after 32 years. She moved back to Utah Valley after her parents passed away to be closer to family. She taught an additional 8 years at Greenwood Elementary in American Fork. She dedicated 40 years of her life to educating countless children. These children were the highlight of her life. She touched the lives of hundreds of children whom she considered her own.
She was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served many callings in primary as a teacher, pianist, chorister and primary president. She also served in Young Womens as a Mia Maid leader and took the girls on as her own. One special girl in particular is Michelle Huber (Simmons) , whom she loves so much even in her last days. She was known as “Mother Ann”.
She loved horses, piano and loved to play her guitar. She loved all forms of art and was a very talented artist. She has a special best friend Anita Peterson. They shared a lot of fun adventures together including a lot of trips to Jackson Hole. She loved animals. She always had some form of an animal in her life at all times. Even her pet goat Jackie in which she begged her daddy to save him at the sales barn. They were holding him up by his ears and she thought they were hurting him. She had a special horse in her life named Sandy that she would ride bareback because it took too long to saddle her up.
Out of all accomplishments her greatest love was for her daughter Jennie. She loved her grandchildren Nathan and Maigen unconditionally. She also loved her nieces and nephews and never forgot their birthdays.
She’s survived by her daughter Jennifer and her grandchildren Nathan and Maigen all of Spanish Fork Utah. She has 3 sisters and 1 brother. Ellen (Larry) Banks, Merrilyn (Dennis) Bollschweiler, of Springville, Utah. Sue (Mike) Woolstenhulme of Oakley, Utah and Chuck (Pandy) Andersen of Elk Ridge, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nieces Sarah Lyn Woolstenhulme and JoElle Arnold.
Her viewing and Funeral will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the LDS Chapel in Spanish Fork Utah at 1661 South 1400 East. Her viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. The Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Evergreen Springville Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Utah Valley Hospital ICU and Parkway Health and Rehab in taking wonderful care of her in her last days. A special loving thanks to her Home Health Care nurse and niece Jessica Andersen. Her caring and loving heart took care of all of her needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of her in her last days.
We love you Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Great Aunt, Sister, Teacher and Friend. Till we meet again you will be forever in our hearts because you greatly touched our lives

November 28, 2021 at 3:06 amAnn was a loving, caring, strong, woman who was an example to me of how loving others can truly bless lives. The proof of that is how many lives have been influenced for good because of the love she had for them. I will always be thankful for the time I got to spend with Ann over the years. God Bless you Jen, Nate and Maigen. I know you will continue to feel and remember her love for you.

December 5, 2021 at 10:27 pmPresident Hinckley’s simple message, be kind, really resonated with me. The almost child-like words would make an amazing difference in our world if they were lived by everyone. Ann lived them. It’s a high compliment I give when I say Ann was kind. I worked with her also and watched her interactions with children, parents, and teachers. She had this!
