Andrew Mark Poulsen was born on October 23,1990 to Lori Petroff in Provo, UT. He spent his childhood in Springville, Utah, where Andrew and his sidekick (Nick), could be found causing mischief. Throughout his life his bubbly personality and loving heart led him to Kelly and Debbie Fonohema, or as they say it, his parents by choice. Shortly after Andrew was welcomed into the Fonohema home he became big brother to Maikeli (Cassidy) Fonohema and was privileged enough to be there to welcome two amazing little sisters into the family as well, Olivia and Alia.
Andrews’ escape in his younger years was running, long distance running. If his world got too chaotic he would try to outrun it, as fast as he was he found that he wasn’t fast enough to outrun life and realized cars were much faster. He later focused his attention on cars as they became his passion. That is until his daughter and the light of his life, Emilynn Jade Poulsen, was born. In that moment he stopped running from life and started living it. Everything he did was for his daughter.
Andrew and Emilynn were lucky enough to find Emi an amazing “mama”, as they call her, Hayley. Hayley as well as Andrew loved all of their children and would give them the world. Weekends with the family were spent at the pool or running around the house laughing and making silly jokes. Andrew found that much like Debbie and Kelly were to him he was the parent by choice to Zophia and Zaxton. As he found throughout his life, a parent by choice is one of the most selfless acts of love you can do. You chose these kids and they chose you.
Andrew passed away on February 23, 2022 donating his organs to those in need. He was survived by his wife Hayley( Zophia and Zaxton) Sillitoe, Daughter Emilynn Poulsen, and his favorite fur baby Richard ‘Dick’ Poulsen, cousin Audrey Rowley and Family by choice Kelly (Debbie) Fonohema, Maikeli (Cassidy) Lomu-Fonohema, sisters Oliva and Alia Lomu-Fonohema and many nieces and nephews.
Andrew was a kind man, and a hard worker; he was deeply loved and loved deeply. He is predeceased and welcomed into heaven by his biological mother Lori Petroff, brother Nicholas Poulsen, his aunt Lucinda Thorne, grandfathers Dan Hayes and Ted Petroff as well as the two Angel sons Hayley and Andrew shared.
