Our dear mother and grandmother Alice Louisa Swain returned to her Father in Heaven Thursday, August 25th 2022 at the age of 84. After several years of enduring many health-related trials, Louisa was able to be released from her pain peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones.
After losing her father at the age of three Louisa formed strong bonds with her mother and twelve siblings as they grew up and struggled together on their family farm in Central Valley Utah.
Upon graduation she moved to Clovis New Mexico with her sister Elnora where she met her dear husband, Larry Gene Hoover, who was then stationed at Cannon Air Force Base. They soon began their family as they traveled the world and had four children that they loved and adored. After Larry’s retirement they moved back to her hometown of Central Valley where she stayed until his sudden and unexpected passing in 1989.
Despite the sadness of her loss at the young age of 50, Louisa found joy in her children and her grandchildren and spent her days writing her family history and doing genealogy, which was truly her passion. She later met and married Fred Swain and resided in Salem Utah until the day of her passing.
Louisa will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, her sweet spirit and her unfailing faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She will be loved and missed by so many.
Louisa is survived by her son Clarke Hoover, her daughters Charise (Kent) McCormick, Laura (Blair) Jensen, Anna (Phil) Holmes, and her eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service in memory of Louisa will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 60 South Main Street, Salem Utah, September 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 am, with the viewing starting at 9:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Richfield City Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
