Zachary Mark Johnson, known to many as Zac or simply Z, was born on March 16, 1981, in Payson, UT. On November 20, 2024, Zachary, a dedicated and generous man, returned to his Heavenly Father. He spent his life in Payson where he established deep roots and created countless memories. He was a talented shipping manager in a local printing business, bringing his unique wit and charm to the workplace every day.
Zac’s generosity extended far beyond his work, however, as he was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his parents, Ric and Jolene Johnson; his brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Keri Johnson; and his beloved nieces and nephew, Brooklyn, Hadley and Crew. Each of them will remember Zac for his unwavering dedication to family and friends, his quick wit, and his boundless generosity. He was preceded in death by his sister, Whitney Johnson, and his grandparents, Mark and Sheryl Olson, Fred and Sandra Johnson.
Zac was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving an LDS mission in Lima, Peru. He was also an avid rock climber and had a passion for music and movies as well as amassing a cherished sneaker collection. Zac demonstrated love in all his interactions, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.
We invite all who knew Zac to honor his life by leaving memories to his memorial page. Here, we can collectively remember and appreciate the many ways Zac touched our lives.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 274 South Main Street in Payson, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. November 28, 2024 at 8:33 pmI am so sorry for your loss. Z changed my life in a sudden and gentle way. We were fast friends and always laughed about how unexpected our soulmate friendship was. I am so grateful we were able to stay in touch for so many years through so many versions of our lives.
My memories of our times together are of joy, laughter, adventure, connection, music, concerts, and talking through the night.
Thank you for introducing me to your favorite musician back in the early 2000’s: Butch Walker. He’s still one of my favorites 20+ years later.
Most importantly, thank you for being my friend and for sharing so much of yourself and your life with me.
I love, love you friend. Rest in peace.
