Carla Marie Clark, also known as Wicanpi’ Oyate’ Winyan’ or Star Nation Woman, transitioned from this earthly realm on May 22, 2024. Born on July 25, 1989, in Provo, Utah, Carla was a delightful spirit whose love for life was as vast as the cosmos she adored. Her fascination with celestial bodies, particularly Jupiter, reflected her unique and captivating personality.
Carla’s zest for life was evident in her myriad of hobbies. She relished camping under the starlit sky, doodling creative masterpieces, and playing the piano. Her love for the cosmos was rivaled only by the joy she found in her family, and her daughter Charlotte was the brightest star in her universe. Carla also enjoyed hiking and golfing, often with her treasured dad, Robert Milton, by her side.
As a homemaker, Carla made her home a cosmos of love, warmth, and laughter. In the words of Vincent van Gogh, “I don’t know anything with certainty, but seeing the stars makes me dream.”
Carla is survived by her father, Robert Milton, mother, Laura Amos, daughter, Charlotte Clark, and siblings; Clint (Amanda), Dave, Sonny, Melissa (Ace), Melanie, and Alyce, and her many nieces and nephews. Once of most important survivors is her loyal and fierce protector of 17 years, Rocky the Aussie. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Tucker, Uncle Bill “Tatanka” Hardesty, cousin Robby Hardesty, and the family’s beloved pet, Lucy (Goose).
Carla’s life was celebrated on July 25, 2024, at the Spanish Fork River Park Campground in Spanish Fork, Utah – a fitting tribute under the celestial bodies she loved so deeply. As we remember Carla, we are reminded of a quote from Galileo Galilei, “The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.” Like the sun, Carla nurtured and loved her family as if they were the only ones in her universe.
