Paul Jones Roach September 4, 1948 - March 27, 2023

Paul Jones Roach (74) was born on September 4, 1948 to Walter Dean and Florence Jones Roach. He passed away in his home surrounded by his family on March 27, 2023 after a short courageous battle with cancer. Paul grew up in Spanish Fork Utah and attended schools there and graduated from Spanish Fork High School with the class of 1966. He studied at Brigham Young University and graduated with a double major in Spanish and Physical Education in August of 1972.. He was an educator who spent 27 years teaching in the Nebo School District: Physical Education, Spanish, and Life Skills, while also doing all his farming.

Paul served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Uruguay, Montevideo Mission. There he made lifelong friendships and gained a deep love for the people of Uruguay and Paraguay.

After returning from his mission, Paul fell in love with and married his sweetheart Alice Ann Runolfson on May 27, 1972 in the Provo Utah Temple. Together they had five children: K.D., Analice, Matthew, Robert, and Daniel. They were blessed with twelve grandchildren that he dearly loved and adored.

After growing up farming with his father, he continued his love for agriculture and cattle by owning and running his family farm with his wife and kids. Paul always said, “The farm may not raise a lot of money, but it will sure raise good kids.” His farm and legacy will continue on for generations to come.

He served faithfully in many church callings. Paul came in contact with many people who had a profound influence on his life. He cherished the many friendships he made over the years.

The Roach family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that helped Paul with his health challenges: Drs. Brandt Esplin, Steve Larsen, Brandon Barney, and Lawrence Nobuhara.  Paul expressed his gratitude to have the right medical people placed in his path at the precise times.

He is survived by his wife: Alice Ann Roach, sister: Deanne (Bryan) Jex, Children: Kenneth Dean (Megan) , Analice (Adam) Heaton, Matthew (Janette), Daniel (Stefanie), Grandchildren: Jared, Kaylee, Will; Kourtney, Kaitlyn, Makell; Kasey, Whitney, Hayden; Dane, Alice, and Barret.

Hi Lana I just noticed your condolences. Thank you so much. This is a journey that I did not expect to have to experience this soon. He was diagnosed with a cancerous sarcoma on the back right side of his back on the 2nd of February. Things went south way to fast. Thank goodness for precious memories. Thank you so much for your message. Ann

Paul was my protector when I was picked on in Jr. High School. I have always appreciated him for saving me from bullies, even though I haven’t seen him since graduating. Thank you Paul.
