Spanish Fork, Utah – Jack was born October 3, 1967, in Apple Valley, California to Jack Leonard Miller and Miriam Susan Southwick. His mother and father divorced and his mother was remarried to Kenneth James Ray in 1971. Kenneth then adopted Jack in 1974.
Jack has three sons that he loved very much and was very proud of their achievements in life: (Kenny) Kenneth James Ray, (J.J.) Jack Leonard Ray (Lynn), (Mikey) Michael Darwin Ray (Tiffany). He has seven grandchildren: Martina Martinez, Matthew Grahm II, Lucas Grahm, Destiny Christensen, Dimetrius Salazar, Tamden Michael Cruz Ray, Mercedez Dawn Ray. Jack also has four great grandchildren. Ivory Graham, Victoria Graham, Zedekiah Carracci, and Izzya Salazar.
Jack loved truck driving and had many certificates qualifying him to haul almost anything. He also drove truck over the ice roads in Alaska. Jack really loved to fish and did it anytime he got the chance, especially with family. He also tried to help his family whenever he could.
He loved his trucking companions. First it was a Pitbull that he called Mama Dogg. Then when she passed away it was an English Bulldog, Hanna. He would put them in the passenger seat so they could look out the windows as they traveled the road. Everywhere he would regularly stop to eat, knew that he would order a steak or prime rib for his dog. He grew to love them and would worry about them and their comfort as if they were human.
He is survived by his mother, Miriam Susan Ray; his brothers: Daniel Ray, Marcus Ray, and Michael Ray; two sisters, Marjorie Retzlaff and (Marie) Mariam Holderby; as well as uncles and aunts: Evelyn and Larry Goudie, Douglas and Michele Southwick, Larry and JoAnn Higgins, Mike and Teresa Southwick, Len and Debbie Southwick; eight nephews: Christopher Retzlaff, Derek Retzlaff, Bryan Retzlaff, Shane Retzlaff, Austin Ray, Kevin Holderby and Isaac Holderby; and four nieces: Kassidy Nelson, Icesis Holderby, Audriana Ray and Aunika Ray. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Darwin and Miriam Southwick; Charles and Grace Ray; his father, Kenneth Ray; as well as an uncle and aunt, Barbara and Al Maddocks.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Wolf Hollow Second Ward meetinghouse, located at 870 East Canyon Road, Spanish Fork, Utah, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a family and invited-friends dinner just after.
